I've noticed that my MacBooks battery has been losing its full charge within a few hours and I went to feel the bottom of my mac and it was burning hot. So after a few google searches I went to go find whats the problem. What I found is 'identityservicesd' is running at 97% of my cpu. How can I lower that to regain my battery life?

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/IdentityServices
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. Log out or restart the computer and empty the Trash.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You may not see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
This is all that shows up when I open it, I'm not sure what to do from here.
Drag all those files to the Trash, then log out or restart.
Thanks for this. For some reason that identityservicesd popped up one day and not only took up all the CPU but stopped iMessage from working. Deleting it sorted it out
