Hey mperor --

I had similar issues with Logic crashing regularly after my update to 10.2.1. For me, it would crash predictably every time I tried to load a new patch in Falcon as it was loading the samples and keygroup mappings. I have a MOTU Track16 audio interface, an Alesis V49 controller (meh), and a Nektar Panorama P1 connected, and I think I've managed to resolve my issue. Maybe it's a control surface driver or something else causing your crashes.

Here's what I did to fix my issues:

1) Disconnected V49 and Panorama, and examined system MIDI Window in Audio MIDI Setup utility. I had a driver issue after the 10.2.1 update with my Nektar Panorama P1.

2) I deleted the "red question mark" MIDI device instance.

3) Started Logic then deleted the instrument+mixer+Panorama P1 from Logic in Control Surfaces->Setup.

4) Installed the newest drivers from Nektar for El Capitan.

5) Re-opened Logic and recreated a new project, loaded Falcon, and BOO-YA everything is working.

I had tried a TON of other stuff prior to this as well:

1) I was previously on Yosemite 10.10 with Logic 10.2, and everything worked perfectly.

2) Installed Logic 10.2.1 upgrade a couple days ago (sure, why not, right?!?) ... everything goes to ****.

3) How in the freak do you download the previous 10.2 release? Not obvious, so I was like, huh, let's do some system maintenance and see if that helps.

4) Fixed file permissions, did some virus scans with Bit Defender (nothing found), so I decided on a hail Mary play to just bite the bullet and upgrade to El Capitan 10.11 (been wanting to do it anyway).

5) El Capitan didn't fix anything (shocker), but I gotta tell ya it's faster and my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013) runs like a CHAMP now.

6) Installed and ran OnyX 3.1.4 and cleaned all caches, multiple restarts, etc, and no difference other than my system is squeaky clean and runs great.

7) Finally did the 5 steps above, and that what was ultimately successful. Now I have 10.2.1 running on OS X 10.11, and things are GREAT so far.

Hope this helps someone.

Best,

Pete

Ok.. 1st.. there is still work to be done with 32lives....

Check you have updated 32 Lives to the latest version v1.0.10..

Then launch 32lives.... rescan and resurrect all your 32bit plugins....

Now restart Mac again and test.....

If it still crashes... launch 32lives again and unwrap... and restart Mac..

Then go to...

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

and

~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components folders....

(System and User Libraries) ....and move any plugins that end in X64.component to a different folder.. say on your desktop..

Make sure you check both folders.....

If you are not sure how to do this... Go to Finder's menu bar and click on Go and then Go to Folder... and copy and paste each of those paths in there one at a time.. and press return..

Restart your Mac and test Logic again... (These restarts are very important..)

What I think is most wierd thing is that it works in my other user account

This usually means that there is something installed via your original User account Library (and not in the System Library) and that isn't present in the new User Account you created... that is at the root of the issue..

By doing what we are doing we are slowly checking and eliminating all these possibilities 🙂

It takes time.. to go through all this... but we will likely get there in the end (I hope!)

Cheers..
