Windows 10 crashing, but not sure why.

In some releases of the BC6 drivers used by W10, AppleSSD.sys is an unsigned driver. For your specific year/model, AppleSSD.sys is not used. It is only relevant to a MB Air which uses a SCSI interface to the internal storage. You can remove it by using Paragon NTFS for Mac Trial and gaining read-write access to the Windows partition.

Create a Windows System Restore point. Rename the AppleSSD.sys to AppleSSD.sys.bak in Drivers folder (not DrvStore), and reboot Windows. If you run into an issue, roll back to the Restore point. You do have a SD Card slot in the back of your Mac. Is there a pending Apple Software Update?

If you use BC Assistant on the OSX side and download BC6 drivers to a USB Flash drive, check the version of AppleSSD.sys in Bootcamp.xml. If it is newer than what you have installed, you can also replace the older driver with the newer driver, and then test.

I suggest a weekly manual update check and a very carefully screening of any driver updates for such issues, before their installation. Also, create a Windows System Restore point after each update.

I too am having the same problem. On a 2013 iMac. Running Windows 10 Home.

You will need to disable Automatic Updates for Windows, and check manually. If you see any Intel drivers, remove from the update selection.

The Windows Updates cause a lot o problems with Intel GPU drivers. As suggested, disable Windows Automatic Updates, or at least select specific updates you need. Driver updates are very problematic.

Have you found a way to select specific updates in Windows Update on Windows 10? Other than the Microsoft "Show-Hide Updates Tool," which does not work properly on my system.

No I don't think there's a hardware problem with the 4K imac.

On my 2015 21.5" 4K imac there is no option to download the BCA separately, nor is there any option to install via usb.

How do I find the PID/VID?

If you can, I suggest removing the current installation of Windows and run a clean installation.
