MBP 8.1 crashes (once a week) - Help me find the problem

I have a MacBook Pro 8.1 (late 2011). I'm running 10.11.3.

I have had the HDD changed to a SSD (Crucial MX100), more RAM and a new AirPort card. I have reinstalled the OS. The crashes did occur both before and after the new hardware was installed 😟

Are there any standard procedures that I should do? Can someone point me in the right direction to find the problem?

Thanks a million in advance

Please show us a log of the crash or multiple crashes Mac OS X: How to log a kernel panic - Apple Support so we can get a clue and maybe offer soma advice 🙂

Crashes or kernel panics occur when the machine runs into an error it cannot overcome and forces a shut down. This can be caused by both hardware and software.

Please try and note what programs you have opened or what you where doing on the machine when it crashes. For example: your machine crashes every time you use firefox (the browser), then use safari or chrome and see if the kernel panics stop.

Hope this helps!

Hello again!

I have still not had one single crash. I've replaced the old wacom with a new one and I'm still using the computer with it's original 8gb of ram. Otherwise no changes.

I'll try and switch back the memory to 16gb at some time to see if it was the memory or the wacom. My gut feeling is the wacom. I write back once I test that 🙂
