Apps like dropbox and google drive all connect with no issues, along with chrome and firefox. Mac app store, itunes, safari will not connect. Running Yosemite. I would upgrade, but I can't even access the app store!

Eric- thanks for the tips, but I've tried all these potential solutions with no fix. I should have stated in my original post that I search far and wide and came across all these steps and tried them previously. That's why I was trying to reach out to see if there are any other possibilities. I've tried the date and time fix, keychain, certificates, double checked all network preferences, proxies...

Please run EtreCheck and post the report here.

http://etresoft.com/etrecheck

Download it, open Downloads folder, click on it to open and select ”Open”.

Select a problem from the “Choose a problem” popup menu box and then “Start EtreCheck” in the dialog.

Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste it when you reply.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.

Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.

The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.

Test while in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Thanks for your reply,

I have the same problem. I have Yosemite 10.10.5. Safari doesn't load a page. Itunestore and App Store don't connect to internet. Firefox doesn't open some pages too.

I have started in safe mode.

Everything works.

In addition I have checked time, date, serial number, DNS setting, Proxy settings.... everything is ok. I have search in applications for mockeeper, found nothing. in home Folder checked Library, Font folder is empty...

from your another post (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5408109?tstart=0)I have ran this command in Terminal in safe mode:

Thanks Eric. Unfortunately when I go to extensions in Safari, it requires safari to connect to the internet and it will not. I uninstalled Avira a long time ago, I'm not sure why anything would still be showing up. I do want to say though that it seems like my issues started around the time I originally installed Avira and that's why I uninstalled it. It looks like there are still some Avira files left behind, but I'm not sure how to completely remove it. The app itself is long gone

macbook pro- safari, app store, itunes all do not connect to internet. Firefox and chrome no problem. Help!
