Xserve G5 Serial number

Hello,
we bought G5 Xserve from retailer, he brought it without dust-jacket and we think that this one was tested by another one buyer. How can we get information if this serial number was use or not? Thanks AnnaBelle (www.anna-belle.de)

Is the "dust-jacket" the metal case that houses the XServe or something else? If you are missing the housing that is not good.

I don't know how to check what you are asking.

Go to the German apple website ( http://www.apple.com/de/support/). There is a section on the screen where you can type in the serial number.
It will give you the date when the machine was originally sold by Apple. Not a lot of information, but a good start especially if the date is very different form your purchase date.
