how do i clear a dialog box in the chrome browser
Hi,
NOTE: I'm EXTREMELY new to iPhone ownership and to iOS.
I'm using a Chrome browser on my iPhone 6 Plus, and one of the browser pages brought up a dialog box that covers most of the screen, preventing me from accessing any of the browser's menu/app/page functionality. I can close the browser by double-clicking the Home button, but if I bring up Chrome again, that same page still exists, and I can't clear it.
This is similar to the Safari scam, so I attempted forcing the app to close (double-clicking home button, swiping the app panel upwards), putting the phone in Airplane mode, then bringing Chrome up again. Unfortunately, the page and dialog box were still there.
There is maybe a second before the dialog box pops up, but that little amount of time doesn't allow for me do much of anything useful.
I tried tapping the menu bar, specifically the number indicating how many pages are active in the browser, before the dialog box came up in order to have the pages appear as panels I could navigate through and shut down individually. No luck. The dialog box is still too big, and it prevents me from accessing any of the appropriate buttons/functionality for ANY of the windows...
OK, so doing some due diligence to make sure what I was writing was true, I brought up Chrome, tapped the page count number on the menu bar before the dialog box came up, and THIS TIME all the pages presented as I'd wanted, where I could shut each one down individually using the "X" at the top right of each page panel. Problem solved.
Still, if there's another way to prevent or deal with these dialog boxes in Chrome on the iPhone, please let me/us know.
Thank you!
Have a great one!
