Photos Folders messed up after iOS update

I transferred photos in folders from my laptop to my iPad via iTunes.

Now every time there is a system update, these imported photo folders are completely messed up, e.g. duplicated Folders, containing photos from a variety of different folders etc. Of course I can neither move, nor delete, rename or anything else with these Folders, so I end up going through a series of synchronisation processes via iTunes, taking usually the better part of a day until all is back to normal.

a) Does anyone else experience this?

b) Is there a simpler way to fix or even better prevent this from happening?

Rephrasing as suggested:

The problem occurs in the app Photos, on an iPad Air, currently running iOS 9.2.1

I transferred photos from my laptop (Windows 7) via iTunes (12.1.2) to my iPad Air (iOS 8.4 at that time).

Since then every time there is a system update for the iPad Air, e.g. from iOS 9.1 to iOS 9.2, then again from iOS 9.2 to iOS 9.2.1, the Albums on my iPad Air are completely messed up, e.g. duplicated Albums, containing photos from a variety of different Albums etc.

Of course I can neither move, nor delete, rename or anything else with these Albums, so I end up going through a series of synchronisation processes via iTunes, taking usually the better part of a day until all is back to normal.

I tried this (deleting ONE album and syncing; then adding the album back and syncing again) and found that it works with my PC as well as on your Mac! Thanks very much!

This is MUCH less time consuming than deleting and replacing ALL my 7500+ photos!!!

[It still would be nice if Apple would just fix the problem!]

I have this same issue and it still happened after iOS 10.02.

Each time I do a iOS software update all my synced albums are completely messed up and I have to remove them, sync a random folder then selected the correct ones and resync all 3000 pictures on any iOS device. Sometimes I have to go through this process 3 - 4 times after an update just to get my pictures back correctly.

I don't understand why a simple updated duplicates my synced albums (sometimes three or four times) and rearranges pictures from one folder into other multiple incorrect folders.

My photos and albums are perfectly organized using icloud.

Every time ios updates i get my perfectly sorted albums messed up. No missing photos but albums are completely jumbled. Today's 12/12/2016 update also messed my life up.

here is my plan, comments welcome, prior to every ios update i made certain that my albums were completely organized using icloud. I even logged into icloud from a windows browser to verify all my albums are good on the cloud.

SO how about this, before the next ios update i disconnect my ipad from the icloud photo library, delete any residual photos and albums from my ipad. my ipad is now photo free and not synced with icloud, then i run the ios update, presto the update cant mess with our photos on the ipad, cant mess with our photos on icloud, because the ipad has no access. After the ios update, i turn on icloud photo library and let the ipad repopulate with hopefully my original perfectly organized photo albums That were sitting on the icloud.

you may wonder why icloud's albums got screwed up from an ios update, here is my theory, after the ios update screwed up the photos on my ipad, it uploaded the screwed up mess to the icloud. Here is the proof, after my 12/12 ios update mess up, i logged into icloud photo from a separate pc browser, at first it displayed my organized original albums, then it literraly crashed me out, when i reconnected from the separate pc browser it now displays the jumbled mess.

the only way to test this is i have to wait for the next darn update!
