The Document ... Could Not Be Saved

I have been working on a book in iBooks Author for some time now and I am on the last chapter and get the following error:

The Document "Name of Book.iba" Could not be saved

Unable to save it I tried to duplicate it and I get a similar error that it can't be duplicated.

Running iBooks Author 2.4(816)

The book is 973 pages long and has approximately 1000 photographs

The file size is 11.16GB

What options do I have for saving the book?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), 13"

i was going to reply that there is a limitation of 2 gb on the file size of an ib author book and that perhaps you reached that limit. however ...

1. not sure if that is on the source document (.iba) or the actually book (.ibooks) document. check that first with the documentation. i am not sure how the software behaves at that file size or whether it is an artificial limit imposed by the bookstore.

2. wondered if your last edit added 9+ gb, which might be unusual. did you just add all the photos?

if you are running up against the max size, you will have to have a book which consists of multiple volumes.

3. but since you said you could not duplicate it, that is a finder issue. my last guess is that you ran out of space on your hard drive. check that and call me in the morning and i will give you a cure perhaps.
