How can I Find My Apple Pencil?

IInteresting. I was coming here to post the exact same thing. I haven't had my pencil for a few day yet brought my iPad Pro to the bathroom daily. Don't know why I didn't think of before. In fact.

APPLE. SINCE THERE IS NO CHIP TO LOCATE (yet), CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE A NOTICE THAT IF YOU LOST YOUR PEN TO EITHER:***

1) open compatible iOS device.

2) Go to "Settings" make sure "Bluetooth is on, if so. Walk around until you see the word "connected".

When the battery is getting low, if you happen to wander around it, your device will display a message.

Didn't get get this message nor did I think about looking to see if attached until now. Still don't have. But it'd close by.

** Neither method will work if the battery on the pencil is dead.

For stolen Pencils, I think Apple could implement “Find My Pencil” trough an iOS and iCloud solution. After each paring, the device (the iPad) could report its position to iCloud and we could interrogate the Pencil position with its serial number. We could get the last position of the iPad that was used with the Pencil. That would be helpful.

No, but I'm sure Apple wouldn't mind if you purchased another one for $99. It would be nice if it could be integrated into the actual iPad. But, then again, we'd probably lose it even then. 😟

I couldn't find mine, but then I noticed the battery level was showing at 7% in the widgets. Shortly after a notification came up telling me the pencil was down to 5% battery so I knew it couldn't be far away, and it wasn't! It was in the bureau drawer about 2 feet away 🙂

Thanks! You were EXACTLY right!! Thought it was gone forever but read your post and checked the couch cushions and there it was!!! I did get the below 5% warning so I guessed it had to be in the house

I wonder if it would be possible to use the iPad's compass and accelerometer, plus the pen's signal strength and delay measurements, to triangulate the pen's position as you walk around with your iPad.

It could be even more accurate/faster if multiple iDevices can listen to the ping of the pen.

look between the cushions on your sofa - I always find my Apple Pencil there (along with assorted loose change, and crumbs from the chocolate bar I was eating)
