how do i format a usb stick so my xbox one picks up a movie file. i bought a stick put a movie file and it worked from new, but whenever i format it using my mac the xbox never picks up the movie files. what setting do i use for the xbox to pick up the files?
What format are you using when you format it? I would imagine the Xbox can only understand one of the Windows formats like FAT32, ExFAT, or NTFS.
Even if you are using FAT32 (MS-DOS), I have seen some devices that won't recognize them when formatted on a Mac.

Most likely you need to format sticks for ExFAT. It's how most are formatted by default and both Macs and Windows, and most likely an XBox, can use them..
