How does the Apple Watch handle the Activities and the goals when I switch the timezone?

On a long distance flight with a timezone difference of nine hours, when would be the best moment to switch to the timezone of the destination airport, so that the Stand goal can be completed, even if the day is nine hours shorter at the destination?

I found that you had to get all your exercise in in the hours that were left in your shortened day at your destination.

Thank you, Winston Churchill. That looks like a sleepless night, but feasable! 😁

The other direction is problematic too. I tested a bit, and when I set the watch back a few hours, like for flying westward, all stands and exercise entries I had aquired were gone. They reappeared, when I advanced the watch again, but it seems to be problematic to complete the goals, before the timezone is changed.
