Cannot find Music folder on Ipod classic

Since you may have reformatted the iPod outside of iTunes, that could be the problem. It sounds like you use Windows (not a Mac). If so, use Windows to reformat the iPod again, like it's a USB external drive. For format, if the option for FAT32 is available, use it (FAT32 is the format used on iPods when used with Windows). If FAT32 is not an option, ExFAT is probably the next best choice (do not use NTFS). If there's an option for a quick format, do a full format instead. If the format operation completes successfully, run iTunes. Whether you are prompted or not, you must do a Restore using iTunes, to add back the iPod's onboard software and set it up to operate as an iPod.

If iTunes picks it up (without "freezing"), it should prompt you to do a Restore with a message about "recovery." Let iTunes do the Restore, to put back the iPod's onboard software, which is necessary to operate the iPod as an iPod.

BTW It isn't enough to throw media files inside iPod_Control. They have to be set out in a particular layout of hidden folders and obscured filenames which have to be added to a database on the device or it won't see that they are there, iTunes is the usual tool for doing this but there are others. If the drive is shot however none of them are going to work.

Those numbers are reasonable. Once the 96 pendings have been turned into reallocs, and providing they're not the tip of a hidden iceberg, you should be OK. Try the DFU restore or reformat suggestions. One or other should work. Try the quick format through Windows Explorer since you've already located that, then check the stats again. Once you're seeing zero pendings connect to iTunes and restore.

Isn't the quick format option a checkbox? If so, you would just uncheck it to get a regular (full) format. Sorry, I'm a Mac user so I can't look myself.
