Trade in with battery replaced

Can you trade in an iphone 5s if the battery has been replaced?

If you have replaced the battery yourself or via a third party you will have voided the warranty and that, I imagine, would prevent any part exchange. Some really smart technical people can do a replacement without it being obvious (screws are hard to remove without showing signs of removal) in which case you might get away with it if you have used the same battery, too. But ?????
