Can iWorks convert and import Appleworks databases?

I have several databases that were generated under Appleworks 6. But now I have an Intel iMac and Appleworks

won't work. I looked at Filemaker Pro but to convert to a form that program uses, I have to have access to the files.

And they are all "grayed" out when I go to them under Filemaker Pro. The Appleworks disk I have gives me the

error of "cannot install on Intel computer". So how can I restore my databases?

I don't have the information anymore to re-do all of them manually!

I'm running Lion OS 10.7.5 on an Intel iMac.

Thanks.

Thanks! I've now got AW 6.2.3 and it runs fine in Mac OS 8.6 in SheepShaver.

Now, here comes the "weird" part...

I have both AW6 and CW5 documents, and assumed that each would open in its "correct" application. No - this is what happens:

  1. If AW6 is open, it opens its own, and opens CW5 documents (with the 'created in previous...' warning, and a (v6.0) suffix)
  2. If both apps are open, the same thing happens
  3. If only CW5 is open, it opens its own documents, but... with the 'earlier version' warning, and adds a (v5.0) suffix! So I did Get Info and the CW5 documents are now identified as AW6 documents

Anything I can do about that, or must I just live with it?
