i need to know hown to connect my IPad Air 2 to my exnal hard drive or to my laptop. ,y IPad informs me i have no more storage space.

Unless your portable harddrive is wifi enabled, you cannot connect to it.
On your iPad go to settings, usage and see what's taking up the space. Then you can choose what to do. Perhaps delete movies you've watched, or get rid of large apps you don't use.
