I recently purchase the Magic Trackpad 2 to use with my iMac. Whenever my computer goes to sleep the trackpad disconnects and I have to turn it off and turn it back on to make it connect. The battery doesn't seem to be the issue - it's at 98%.
Anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution?

Don't know if you have seen this Apple document but it is worth studying. You wouldn't believe some of the harmless situations that can affect your devices. Hopefully something there will set you on the right route.

Thanks for the reply. Most of those don't apply to me but some do.
To be clear - I don't get disconnect unless my computer goes to sleep. If it was a matter of interference, I imagine I'd get cut off randomly at any time. Also, my wireless keyboard stays connected after sleep.
What version of bluetooth do you run? Double check the things that do apply to you. Location of potntial interference is very important; new phone hubs, neighbours equipment etc. It is as much in their interests as yours.

I have the exact same issue as you (came here through a Google search) and found something that seems to work, at least for now:
In the System Preferences go to Bluetooth>Advanced... There are three options and the third one - "Allow Bluetoth devices to wake this computer" - was disabled in my system. I activated it and since then it does not disconnect during sleep anymore.
Now if I could only get rid of the Trackpad getting drunk (weird pointer movement) from time to time....

Thanks for this reply. It was actually helpful but in reverse. "Allow Bluetooth Devices to wake this computer" was active on my system. I "unchecked" it and now my trackpad doesn't disconnect. I had to wake the computer by pressing the power button gently. Then I just disabled sleep mode entirely. Very odd.
Just to add another possible solution here: in addition to problems with the trackpad I also encountered that it is impossible to connect my older Magic Mouse (not the newer generation). I did an SMC reset followed by a PRAM reset on my Mac Pro. After that, all problems went away: both devices connect at the same time without issues, are immediately there after wake from sleep and there is no wonky behavior anymore. I also switched my Bluetooth 4.0 dongle from the USB 3.0 add-on card to the internal original 2.0 USB bus, but I guess this was not the issue here.
For me with my Magic Trackpad 2 the answer was turning the trackpad off and back on.
It started after I paired it with a 2nd laptop, and then even when that 2nd laptop wasn't around it kept disconnecting from the first laptop. There is a little switch on the back next to the charger port, switch it off and back on and see if that helps.
