Netgear WGR614 v4 --wireless printing?--

Hello all,
been to Ifelix site on print compatibility.
Have a Netgear WGR614 v4 (with ethernet outs)
Want to purchase HP OJ 6310 (with ethernet port)
If I connect the printer to the router, should I be able to print wirelessly over network with Powerbook Laptops?
Or do I need extra hardware? ie print server, apple extreme base station

Since the HP printer you mention is Ethernet-capable, then it should be reachable from the network if it connected directly to your Netgear router. You shouldn't need to acquire any additional networking items.

Thanks for responding.
Just phoned Netgear support--told me I would have to purchase a "print server" to use wireless printing function (suggested WGP S606).
Am I missing something here?
Router has ethernet, printer has ethernet, shouldn't I be able to print without print server?
If so, how?

In my set up, I have an Ethernet-enabled HP OfficeJet connected to a switch, then router. I can print to it with no problems from any computer on my LAN without a dedicated print server.

If, in your situation, the printer is not hard-wired connected to a LAN, it would require a wireless card or print server.

Just got this setup working. Configured router to "see" devices connected. Am now able to print AND scan wirelessly with any computer on router's network--no card or print server needed. I think if you buy a printer or all-in-one that is "network ready", essentially the device has server built in.
Can't believe I almost payed for a print server...ridiculous.
