Vertical flickering lines and unresponsive screen on my IPhone 6 Plus.

My iPhone 6 Plus keeps on having weird flickering grey/white vertical lines that drag down from the top of the screen on a regular basis, it only stops when I hit it in the back really hard and sometimes my iPhone screen is unresponsive, I wouldn't be able to click on any apps that I want to and sometimes the Phone would open up another app.

Another thing is that when I pressed on the top of my iPhone screen , I see these white lines that look like there's water in it which I suspect it does. My AppleCare expired recently and I'm nervous to go into a telephone shop to get it fixed because I have no knowledge on how much it will cost.

Please help me.

I Am on my eighth 6+ folks. All with same flickering touchpad issue. It is a widespread defect that stems from the fir/form/factor of the thin six plus and is a manufacturers defect that should have gone through a recall to repair. For the life of me, I cannot digest why Apple has remained in denial about this issue being a factory manufactures defect. im told that the issue is repairable and that third party dealers charge around $150. Apple will replace the phone free if it is under warranty and if it out of warranty they will try charging you $329 for a new one. Don't bite on that from them. Hold firm and demand a new phone free of charge and tell them you are well aware of the issue and that you are also well aware that they have been instructed to provide new phones to customers having this issue whether it's out of warranty or not. You will just have to get loud and demanding - they will cave trust me. There are at least three class action lawsuits in process to go after Apple for back charges on customers who had to pay for a replacement on this issue. It's going to be expensive for Apple when they lose them. They could have handled this much more professionally and decided to ignore the issue and failed to give refunds to those customers that paid for replacement phones. Trust me as I received a full refund that I paid on my first replacement. O received this about a month later after I had to return three more phones with same problem and hit the roof in the store. The Apple Store mp,ones are all aware of this and they have been instructed to tell customers that the issue stems from the customer bending the phone. That is a bold face lie as phones right out of the box are having same issues. Last thing....I am a decent size Apple shareholder and am totally amazed that my significant investment has gone into a company willing to basically lie to their loyal customers.

Unfortunately I just started having the same issue.

First 6 plus gave in roughly about 1.5 yrs into it, with unresponsive screen & screen popping up apps and clicking randomly by itself.

Got a replacement via applecare+, and new unit started acting up this morning, just a couple weeks after I received the replacement. I see the vertical bars flickering on this case (which did not happen on my original phone), and screen is totally unresponsive for me.

I am sick and tired of this BS. Talking to techs over the phone for hours, waiting for the replacement, backing up, wiping out the old phone, restoring the new one. I have apps that are actually specific to the phone unit itself (Ventra app where I have my public transportation cards) that need to be transferred to the new phone, etc...

I am paying good money for it, and I just need a phone that just works...

I'm on a new screen from apple and like 3 months after they replaced it and i'm having these issues on my phone 6 plus and my phone is as straight as can be. i cannot use my phone it takes 15-30+ minutes to unlock my phone and that much time to call some one after the unlockThis is some bs considering it's been a know issue for over a year!! Get it together apple!!

I have had the same flickering, non-responsiveness issue for the last 3 weeks on my iPhone 6 Plus. Every day it has gotten worse. Very frustrating. Finally had to transfer my information to another phone last night. Seems like is it not worth wasting my time to visit the Apple store to fix this. With this issue being so wide-spread, not sure why Apple has not made it right yet.

This is my 2nd iPhone, and both have had hardware issues. Really re-thinking what my next phone purchase will be. Starting to lean toward Android.....

I'm having this problem, too, with my iPhone 6 Plus. I have forced reset it. But the screen still intermittently becomes unresponsive, sometimes for more than 30 seconds. I also have restored the whole phone, putting it to factory settings, and the screen still intermittently becomes unresponsive. Also, often when this happens, I see a gray flickering small bar at the top of the screen. What is going on? I've only had this phone for a year. It's been doing this for the last 3 months.

The official Apple line is you should take it into an Apple store. But, based on others' reports, they will not be able to fix the issue on your phone itself and will instead advise you to buy a new one. You can decide for yourself if that feels worth it.

If you take it to a third-party repair shop, they may just try to replace your screen. If the issue is indeed with the touch IC chip on the motherboard, then just putting in a new screen won't do anything; you'll have wasted your money.

my wife's phone started doing this in May & we had to replace it. The tech knew exactly what was going on. So we paid the $375 for a new iPhone 6 Plus and 2 days later the same problem arose. So again off to the Apple Store we go to get another phone. Now it is fine for the being but about 2 weeks ago my phone startes doing the same thing with the unresponsive screen and grey line at the top. Apple just needs to own up to these issues as it is starting to become more & more phones out their, but of course Apple does Not care b/c iPhone 7 is around the corner and iPhone 6 won't be used as much. Apple just needs to replace ALL iPhone 6 users phones & make it right.

Links to threads that are now restricted can be found by searching for this criteria and site. If an Apple Specialist would like to comment on their removal because they violate the current TOS or if there will be an addendum to the TOS regarding this specific issue and posts are being deleted proactively we would love to hear the explanation, otherwise there comments from other forums and technology centric websites pointing to a very concerning issue with iPhones 6 Apple has yet to respond to.

You should know this, but this is a user-to-user forum. And since you've been here awhile, you know that Apple won't just come out and explain any removals on their forum. I'd suggest heading to http://www.apple.com/feedback/

On top of that, there are a couple of things wrong with a lot of the posts that get taken down, I have quite a few in my email. Most likely trying to push third party repair to fix an issue, without mentioning how it could void a warranty. On top of that, they have a financial interest in sending you down that third party repair path. That could be a potential reason.

Speaking of other sites, those other websites probably aren't all linking back to the same article, are they? You know, the one with the person who doesn't have any certifications related to the repairs they're doing. Or the training that they will gladly give you, for a fee. It's not like they have multiple YouTube videos, some talking about actively experimenting on customer's equipment, or dropping things on purpose in order for them to break on camera, or the questionable origins of the repair parts. And it's not like they're in every comment section, getting the word out about microsolderers, something they themselves claim to be. It's not that one, is it?

Had this issue (flickering and non-responsiveness) twice with my iphone 6 plus in last 1 year. The first time after 6 months of my purchase. Apple in-store support fixed it and told me the screen had to be replaced. The second time same thing happened but after my phone was 120 days out of warranty. The tech blamed the issue on bending and told me its very common on 6plus phones. There is no fix and I have to pay $329 for the replacement, which again only comes with 90 days warranty. This is not the Apple that impressed me few years back by replacing my out of warranty ipod touch. I think I am done with Apple and its product. Time to move on!!

Anyone who pays Apple for a new iPhone 6+ that has the flickering screen issue with unresponsive touch simply has not hollered loud enough. Apple tried to get me to pay for one when I didnt know any better and I did thinking it was just a hardware issue.....until I ended up replacing about 8 of them. I went into the Apple store in San Francisco and demanded my refund of the $329 I paid for the first replacement and said I knew this was a defect in manufacturing and I was not leaving the store until I got my way. I got my way folks so raise ****, make noise, and don't let Apple weasel out of replacing your crappy phone on their dime. They know full well of these issues with iPhone 6+'s and will only cave when customers get very upset and threaten to make a lot of noise. It's a joke that it takes this to get what is just standard customer service, but if Apple wants to play this way then beat them at their own game.
