Troubles with Airdrop, MBP and iPhone 5S

I'm having troubles connecting my iPhone (5S, bought in january 2014, runs 9.2.1) and my Macbook Pro (retina, bought in august 2015, runs El Capitan 10.11) with both bluetooth and airdrop. I managed finding my iPhone in the Bluetooth settings after deleting com.apple.bluetooth from library, but it won't stay connected... I've changed the settings so I'm discoverable for everyone both on my iPhone and on my MBP. I also tried googling for a solution on this, but could only find solutions for older software (iOS 8 and Yosemite). My MBP can connect to both my Sandstrøm speakers and my JBL headphones via bluetooth, so I don't think the issue lies there.

I would appreciate any kind of help!

An iPhone will not pair via Bluetooth to a computer (Mac or Windows) except for personal hotspot and then only if your cellular plan supports it. See the following for more information. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-7722

If you are attempting to use Handoff/Continuity or AirDrop, that does involve Bluetooth but the devices are NOT paired; Bluetooth just needs to be on and the devices in range of each other. The following may help with AirDrop issues: Use AirDrop to send content from your Mac - Apple Support
