Maximizing my Macbook for Mobile Multitrack

Simply put.

What type of Audio interfaces do you think my machine can handle with 0 latency for recording?

I want to use my macbook to do multitrack recording. travel with an artist to various locations, setting up and recording onsite. There are so many options i just wanted to poll the community to see what folks are liking as of late.

To start i'll drop specks;

MacBookPro 13" Mid 2012

OS: 10.9.5

Memory: 8GB 1600 DDR3

DAW: Logic X 10.2.0

The Goal: to be able to record Multi Track ( ) clearly with no latency and have a minimal foot print/ setup time

Current ideas for interface:

-Behringer U-PHORIA UMC1820

) Let be real, its cheep and it has Midas pre's. my main concern on this one is latency, however, it is powered. and for me recently the audio interfaces i ave used that use USP power just aren't up to snuff.

-Saffire Pro 40

) Probably what i really need to shoot for. would be good for at home and on the go. have heard numerous positive reviews of the Saffire series from Focusrite. Mic pre's are suppose to be supper clear/clean.

-Apollo 8 DUO

) Pipe dream really, but if i could actually record and monitor multitrack off my laptop i would make it happen.

Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?

Would love to hear what others have come up with for tracking more than 2-4 tracks on a laptop

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), null

Lowest latency will be with a Thunderbolt connection. I have the Focusrite Clarett 8preX for my home studio and I really like the performance with Logic. I'm at less than 3.5ms roundtrip latency with virtual instruments, recording and effects at 192kHz, 256 samples. Not sure if I can get zero latency at an acceptable quality. I'm about to get this for my portable rig. 4pre. Smaller version. supposed to be just as good. http://us.focusrite.com/thunderbolt-audio-interfaces/clarett-4pre it's around $699, but they also have a 2pre version.
