I think we downloaded something bad!

We went to a new website 123movies.to and I think we must have downloaded something because it is exceptionally slow now at loading pages or other apps now. Don't know what to do! I'm not very techy. I deleted every file on my computer that had been modified in the last three days but that doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions please?

Problem: Beachballing

Description:

Yesterday, Safari was real slow loading web pages. We thought our wifi wasn’t working but it was. I deleted all the files that had been modified in the past two days but still some web pages are not loading (specifically when I clicked on articles in DailyMail.com they wouldn’t load). We may have acquired some malware when we visited and used a website we’d never visited before, 123movies.to
