I have Long AVCHD files that will not import from a Sony HDR-CX240E. All the Short Files Import OK. what is the best work around to maintain the best Quality to work with in FCPX?

I am using OS X Yosemite 10.5 and the latest update of FCPX. on a Retina 5K MaxSpec.

I can use an after market AVCHD to MP4 Converter which breaks the AVCHD Clips to 12m30sec clips and converts them to MP4.

The Mac Converters I have tried do not seem to work but "Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate" seems to work fine on my Windows based System.

Is there any other solution or better workaround to maintain the best possible quality to edit with?

Final Cut Pro X, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Yes most do but the very Long ones seem to have a fault that FCPX says the load is incomplete. Clips about 40 mins Long shot in AVCHD only. The clips are visible but once loaded into the timeline will not Share to save project. What other specs would you like? I have tried from the external Drive and from the onboard SSD. I have Updated FCPX and Mac OS but can find no drivers specific to these cameras for Mac or FCPX. I am copying my Camera FILES TO DRIVES FROM THE MICRO SD READER NOT THE Camera.
