Philips easylink not working correctly with new Apple TV

I have just purchased a new Philips TV and connected the Apple TV. It works fine except one thing. When I put the Apple TV in standby using the Apple remote it doesn't put the Philips TV into standby as it should, it simply switches the TV from HDMI to TV. I have spoken to Philips and they say it is working correctly so I am wondering if this is something I can solve with the Apple TV.

It is the new Apple TV.
