iOS Safari search autocomplete vs Android search

Does anyone know if there is any discussion of iOS Safari search autocomplete having a similar function of Android search "insert text" arrow? To describe further; as you type a search, an arrow appears at the end of the text which enables you to insert everything you've typed so you can add to it instead of in iOS, you have to hit the autocomplete phrase to complete the search and then add to it further in the resulting search results. I'm sorry if that is hard to understand.
