Use Home Sharing on iPad if iPad library is empty?

Hello!

I would like to use Home Sharing to stream music from my iTunes library (MacBook Pro 2013) to my iPad. I have no music, videos or whatsoever on my iPad. Unfortunately, it seems like the button required to access Home Sharing from the music app (described here in the iPhone/iPad section) seems only to be available if you have at least one song on the device. Am I missing something or am I seriously required to store a random useless song on my iPad just to listen to music using Home Sharing?

Thank you for your help!

iPad Mini, iOS 9.2.1

Hey!

Are you signed in with an Apple ID that has purchased at least one song from the iTunes Store in Settings > App & iTunes Store?

If you do, you'll get that purchase available to stream in Music without actually using up space.

If you don't have any music available to Music, Music has no menu from Home Sharing.

It looks like the previous poster has hidden the streaming music from the 'Show All Music' option.
