Is the 750GB hard drive loud?

I'm considering getting a 24" iMac with a 750GB hard drive. Apple probably uses the Seagate 7200.10 because that's the only 750GB 3.5" drive I can find anywhere. Unfortunately many of the reviews of this drive suggest that it's very loud.

I need a very quiet computer, so I'm hoping someone with an iMac with this drive can comment on its idle and seek volume. If it makes a racket in the iMac I'll stick with the 500GB drive and hope it's closer to silent.

did your imac g5 have a Maxtor drive in it? because
mine is is only a small hum you have to put your ear
to it to hear it.

Actually I believe it was an Hitachi. I didn't have it long before I decided it was too small for my use and swapped it out for the WD Caviar.

But I am really comparing it here to the Seagate 250's that come in the new C2D iMacs. I have heard a few of them and compare the sound somewhere between a threshing machine and a saw mill in full operating mode (well, not quite that bad).
