Can I disable Mission Control so it doesn't launch each time a drag a window up the desktop? I know I can drag it back down, but its distracting when the visual feedback no longer matches the movement of the mouse.

I need to disable this misfeature.
It's as bad as the other built-in animation.
I might need to install Linux after all, but I don't know how accessible the drivers are.

I had already disabled the shortcuts and hot corners, but still ended up triggering Mission control after slipping while scrolling.
I have coordination/proprioceptive and sensory processing issues, and somehow slipped and activated Mission Control and moved Firefox into another Window. There was a lot of zooming. Zooming hurts me. There is side-scrolling between desktops. Side-scrolling hurts me. All this animation can trigger my migraines.
I unchecked "Displays have separate spaces." I don't know how that had gotten checked. But I managed to keep Mission Control from opening while scrolling and moving windows.

Yes! Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts
Unfortunately this doesn't seem to stop the zooming when you raise a window to the top.

I am not exactly clear the problem, however Mission Control is a valuable piece of the work flow in OS X esp full screen apps and navigation.
You can thru the terminal try turning off via the terminal. I have not tested.

People continually offer as much as advice as they physically can, yet it never ever seems to be enough. I'm not sure what more you want. As far as I'm aware, it cannot be disabled/removed. If there are hacks out there that circumvent the OS, I wouldn't know about them, and I surely wouldn't advocate them if I did. What you need to do is talk to a doctor and get competent medical advice about how to use electronic technology with your myriad of issues, because none of us are qualified to do that.

I'm sorry that you don't have access to the therapy you clearly need, but we're not qualified to be occupational therapists for you. We can only advise you on what to do based on what we know about OS X and Apple products. If all we know isn't enough to minimize problems for you, and doctors cannot provide any more help than they already have, what next?
