The terms of use forbid you to promote a service or commercial activity in these columns. This is probably the reason you cannot do this.
Well, I am trying to insert a button with an hyperlink on my mail signature. This is a private signature and I should be able to link it with my LinkedIn profile. I am not sure you fully understand the issue here
It is still advertising a commercial service. Let us wait and see if anyone disagrees. As an alternative, just imagine the situation if anyone could insert any link; that you were not connected with 'linkedin' and out to trick genuine members into contacting you.
My question is not the first on this forum so why it would be a problem now?
I am not the first raising this issue and others have provided some sort of solution for previous OS.
It is a very simple request and there is nothing wrong about it.
Can you give me a link to one of those 'forms of solution'. It would be very helpful. I would investigate it, be assured.
Thank you but It doesn't work because the "add link" is light grey and can not be selected
A little warning, with good intent,
1. Raicya's suggestion in no way says the end result will be acceptable to Apple.
2. The source of the information contains links to the dreaded MacKeeper, Mac Cleaner sites that are potentially major problems for your machine. As such, it is not a trustworthy site.

71,
Your answer seems totally irrelevant to me and does not belong to this topic related to a Linkedin button on your email signature.
Nothing to do with the software you mention.
If you are not familiar with Linkedin social media please visit www.linkedin.com.

"Irrelevant"

So, I'm out. I tried to be as polite and helpful as possible.

If you want to include a link to your Linkedin profile, type it after your end your e-mail with whatever salutation you use. For example, you could say —
Yours,
ol67 (You'd put your name here)
link to Linkedin profile here
It may seem like a pain, but it's a solution.
IMO it's more trouble than it's worth but these instructions explain how to include html in the Mail.app signatures, which is what I think you are asking for:
C.
It doesn't work but thanks for trying
I think that the information that you are looking for is on http://jobsearch.about.com/od/linkedin/qt/linkedin-button.htm
It essentially has the following steps:

I think that you misunderstand the OP's request. The OP is wanting to add this to the signature of their personal email. That is beyond the control of Apple and Apple does not attempt to control it.
