didn't specifically say you wanted to use it in Apple mail
Hm. What part of "mail signature" was unclear? Did it really need to say "Apple mail" for you to not misread it as "forum signature"?
I'm wondering if English is your first language?
Thank you, I tried it and it does not work either, more precisely you can copy paste the button and add the link but you loose or alter the code when you copy it onto your email signature, hence you get the button but loose the link to your linkedin profile
So where is your suggested answer to the original question?
Or do you view the forums merely as an excuse for snide comment?
71, if I have the answer I would not ask the question on this forum 😁

Of course you wouldn't. The comment was directed at the unnecessary posting by arundeldesigns.
I think it"s a shame that we appeared have to fallen out; I really had no thought of being unhelpful and my post about racyia's post was meant to be useful, even though not directly involved. You may have gone to the site and perhaps noticed the Mac Cleaner advert as dealing with something in the back of your mind.
We are all volunteers, here, not paid Apple employees. We have no way of knowing if the person we respond to is a computer genius or a beginner or somewhat in between. What I will do is draw attention to the post to another area populated by the top people here. Maybe someone will find an answer for you.
OK, I have figured out how to do it... I found this link -> http://www.cultofmac.com/305096/create-html-signature-apple-mail/which almost works.
Before you edit the file, make a copy. Then you can always revert to the backup if needed.
You can follow all of the steps there except where it says "...and replace everything below the Mime-Version line with the HTML code you created above." That did not work for me. Instead replace everything between the lines which start with "--Apple-Mail".
After you are done, when you look in Mail -> Preferences -> Signature you will only see a blank box. When you start a new email, you will see the correct signature with a button.

It doesn't work but thanks for trying
Yes, it works. My sister is a teacher, and when she's typing up an e-mail, she has links underneath her name that go back to her school, the school board's website, and her own classroom site so students can keep track of what's due, what's been turned in, etc. You absolutely can type a link underneath your name when closing out an e-mail.
This is exactly what I wish to achieve
Thanks, but I can't find the placeholder signature in Library folder
I finally managed to do it....wow....very complicated for such a small task
Thank you all for your kind help
You're welcome! Glad that I could help.
Yes WAY too complicated!
In Thunderbird you just copy the html into the signature and you are done. So simple.
