Recently when I back up my iPhone 6, iTunes (latest version) asks if I want to update the iPhone to latest version. The iPhone shows it is at latest version. Why and how do I resolve?

Thanks but what is Error 53 and should I do the update that doesnt seem necessary?
I believe error 53 has something to do with touchpad identification. All I know about whether or not it is necessary is what I read in the link.
