There is nothing to get rid of, Yahoo is not App to remove. And whatever you do, do not download apps like Clean My Mac or anything of the sort.

Yahoo is a search engine, not a browser. Safari is a browser, and cannot be replaced by Yahoo. It can use Yahoo as its search engine however, and even as its home page.

Open Safari Preferences, and under Search, set the search Engine to whatever you want.

If the Home Page is what was changed, you can change that under the General tab there.

Hi there,

First you have to get rid of Yahoo itself. You either deinstall yahoo yourself by entering the programs file in Finder, or by having a program like AppCleaner or Clean my Mac. You then choose to uninstall it. Make sure there are no traces in the bin as well. Afterwards you have to go to the system settings again and set Safari as your default browser. I personally recommend a program like Clean My Mac to uninstall such aggressive programs because they delete every single bit in any directory.

Hope this helps

If it's set as your HomePage, then change the HomePage.

Under the General Tab instead of search.

If Google is set as a search engine, typing your search query in the address bar at the top of Safari should make it search through Google regardless of what appears as your home page.

If you use Yahoo's search box , it's going to use Yahoo.
