iPhone 6 plus grey screen flicker

Hello,

My screen on my 6 plus has started to get grey bars flickering at the top and occasionally the whole screen will flicker. My phone is always in a case and I have never dropped it. Has anyone figured out how to fix it?

I too am now experiencing this problem and I treat my iPhone 6 like it has dynamite inside of it (in other words I'm always overly extremely careful and ginger with it). I've had it for under 2 years and I find it unacceptable Apple isn't taking responsibility for this more and replacing these for free. Seriously, for what I paid for it, it should last!!! This is horrible customer service and is making me seriously re-think ever buying apple again.

I have the same problem. I have been to the Apple store and they said I need a new phone. The Apple rep didn't even let it reach the genius bar because he knew exactly what it was and offered no solutions, but to buy a new one (warranty ran out!). I have never broken the phone and its never been repaired for any reason. It seems like Apple knows there is a problem, but refuses to do anything about it. The person at Apple said the layers in the phone are separating, which means the connectors are also. I wish Apple would do something about it since its not really my fault!

brick_yard is correct. I have the same problem. Seems to affect on the Iphone 6 plus and not the 6s plus. I went to three different apple store and all of the geniuses there knew of the problem. Even though they know, appears apple refuses to acknowledge it. So if you are out of warranty, it's either buy a new one or a replacement at $329. Since the layers are separating from the chip, you can make it work temporarily by "wringing it like a towel" or twisting it. This is a temporary fix as it will get worse so I ended up buying a new phone. This is the first time i've been really disgusted with Apple. check out this thread

iPhone 6 plus intermittent unresponsive screen

Some of my coworker are experiencing the same problem too. This problem is really widespread

I had the same problem, and have now made multiple weekend trips to the genius bar.

Symptoms: started with a non-responsive or inaccurate touch screen. Then, would get grey flickering... As the problem progresses, the phone randomly presses buttons if it is unlocked.

Here was my experience:

Visit #1 - they replaced the screen.

Within 24 hours, the problem returned.

Visit #2 - they replaced the phone....

Within 48 hours, the problem returned.

I've contacted chat support, and their next question was: could the problem have been created on the new phone after having restored from an iCloud backup.

Their best advice and next step was to plug the phone into iTunes, and do a full reset.

Incidentally, this has not solved the problem... (It's also a step that I can't recommend -- because it's pretty difficult to set up a phone as new....if you can't reliably use the touch screen.

So, I'm going on a month with a useless phone, and the best that Apple support has been able to do for me is continue booking ANOTHER genius bar appointment. Where they'll replace the phone....and I'm guessing the problem will come back.

Hi , hurry up and take into the genius bar. I just had mine replaced. Mine was out of warranty and they replaced it becasue i made it a fact to talk to a manager. The genius initially told me "oh thats a quick swap, its a common issue, turn on the wifi and clear you Find my Iphone". Then she started to put in the serial number and realized that i was out of warranty. They will try to charge you 329 to fix it or give you the option to upgrade or pay out right for the phone which is 800 dollars!! redclous i bought the iphone 6 a year ago and they wanted me to forck over almost half to fix it or buy a new one. NO WAY. The genius that further helped me replace the defective phone told me that this is a common problem and that there was a bad batch. Make the case that your phone is defective they should work with you

HHello my phone started doing the same and I've never dropped it,it's always been in a case but it started opening random apps and doing its own thing plus it would freeze anyway I applied a little pressure at both ends of the phone with the screen facing away as if I was bending it and hey presto it worked fine then it came back so I put it on a flat surface and yes it was slightly distorted so I assume the touch screen was in contact and that's why it was doing all the said above try it my phones working a treat now and I hope this helps
