Albums with featured artists sorted as compilations, and can't sort them into Album artist because it sorts the CD into its individual artist on the album

I agree, I make things in my mac such that it displays as I want then sync to iOS device. In there I don't touch it at all or I mess things up 😟.

Here in my screen shot it works for me because: artist = Chilled Ibiza (in other albums I have "various artists", album artist= Chilled Ibiza; and then it does not matter whether I set compilation or not !

Also in my case I have the song artist in every song name !

Strange, I still don't understand why you have a Compilations category at the top of your Artist view, there must be some difference between your setup an mine.

As far as how your Compilations are arranged in the Artist view, do you have these settings?

- Sort Albums by Title

- Group Compilations is selected

Hmm, then I wonder if whatever is allowing you to see this Compilation category in Artist view is also related to you not being able to break a Compilation album out of that category. As I've shown, I'm not seeing either of these issues. Note that I don't see the Compilation category in Artist view as a problem, but as (perhaps) a related symptom of what is a problem (you not being able to sort things as I am able to).
