In the last couple of weeks I've noticed that when I send an iMessage from my iPhone 6 to my best friend, it first shows as delivered, as usual. She then reads it and it'll show as read. Then I'll go back into message later and it's turned back to delivered again, as tho the imessage hasn't been read at all.
Does anybody have an idea as to why its doing this?? Or what I can do to correct this???

Having the same issue, I took the advise of Powering Down. It worked! Previously 'Read' iMessage that was somehow changed to 'Delivered', was restored to the 'Read' status.
simple, they've turned off their read receipts
I can't believe I see posts from April 2016 with this problem. It is now mid Feb 2017 and nobody has figured this out yet? Very frustrating!
What if the other person you sent the messagesdeleted the whole conversation, and somehow went back to just delivered! Could that be possible??

10.3.1 and it's STILL an issue.

My updated 6 just started doing this today. I restarted as seen in the replies and it corrected the 2 it had done it to. Looks like a year long issue with Apple. WAY, too long Apple!
