Can anyone tell me how to combine numerous folders into one big folder? I know how to take individual files and put them in folders, but how can I combine multiple folders into one big folder? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure what it is you're trying to accomplish, but you can just drag an entire folder into another one. That will wind up as a sub-folder. If you don't want that, highlight one, choose select all or hold down Shift key while selecting the others and then drag all of them to the other folder.
FWIW, that type of work is easier to see/do if you choose to display your folders in column view (at least that makes it quicker for me).

Please forgive this question as you can tell, this is all new to me. But what I did was pick files I had inside certain folders and did the right click deal and it put those selected files into one folder. Now I have numerous folders with the same type and kind of files I want to consolidate into one big main folder. Again, please forgive my ignorance on this subject but are you saying I need to name all the folders I want to consolidate the same name for starters? And what exactly do you mean by differently located? And dragging a folder into the other location but not into the folder itself I'm not understanding. Again, please forgive my ignorance on this subject but I really appreciate any help and answers that can help me. I'm trying to clean up scattered files on my Mac but I need yalls help as you can tell. Again, I thank you for any help or answers in advance.
You cannot have two items with the same name in the same location (folder.) I think you have gone a complicated way for what is a simple solution. In the Finder is a Search field. You can search your entire computer using Spotlight to find all files with the same type or extensions. The result is displayed in the Finder's window. Create a new folder, say on the Desktop for now, then select all the files in the search result window and drag the selection to the new folder you created.
