Hi got a new car and learned that you can plug in a flash drive with Mp3's to play your music. Can anyone tell me a procedure to follow to select songs from iTunes and convert them to Mp3's so I can copy them on a flash drive for the car? Thanks so much.
iMac, iOS 4.3.2
Open iTunes. Go to iTunes Preferences -> General
Click on Import Settings button, change the format from AAC to MP3. Save.
Ctrl+click the song, select import as MP3

Hi KIlted: Thanks for the response. The price doesn't seem too outrageous if it works. This will allow me to convert the selected iTunes song files to Mp3 and copy them to the flash drive? Is it easy to use?
Yes. It will convert and export anything that's not DRM protected. You can select individual tracks, albums, playlists, etc. It retains album art if your system supports that. For me, it was definitely worth the price just for the time savings.
Ok great. Do you know how to identify any songs that are DRM protected and is there anything I can do about it?
You can create an mp3 version of any selected track(s) with iTunes. Control (right) - click on the track(s) you want to create a mp3 version of and select Create MP3 Version from the contextual menu.
