How to hide sidebar with other files from Notes?

OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

I'm trying to read a pdf file from Acrobat Pro and take notes with Notes in my mac, side by side.

Would like to know how to hide the sidebar on the left of Notes, where the other file's names are.

I don't mean the folders, I already went to "View" and clicked "Hide folders".

I want to be able to just see the writing area of Notes while sharing the screen with the document I'm reading in Acrobat Pro.

Seems like a basic feature that Apple or Adobe Acrobat Pro should have but I can't seem to find it.

Searched for other options in the App Store but what I found is a bit pricey.

I appreciate any assistance.

Hey, damsanto:

This was bugging me for the longest time, but I JUST figured it out. Double click the note(s) in the "sidebar" and it should open it as it's own note, by itself. Like this:

Below you'll see what I see with Notes. The Toolbar in the gray area has a series of icons. The first one on the left shows a representation of Notes with its sidebar bar in the icon, if you click, will turn off the sidebar.

Acrobat Pro is an entirely different program. If you are having trouble with Acrobat appearing in a different space than Notes, then you may want to change your settings in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Mission Control.

Thanks for replying to my question KimUserName and a brody.

What I want to hide is the side area with the other notes. I realized after posting that my question was missing a coma.

It should read: "How to hide sidebar with other files, from Notes?".

It's probably not clear still, thanks for your understanding.

The things is that I don't need to see the title of the other notes, I want to use that space for the Notes pad.

Taking your picture as a reference KimUserName, I would like to hide the column where the "New Note", "Vegas Internet", etc. is. I have a 15" Mac Book Pro and could really use the real estate when placing Notes side by side with Adobe Acrobat.

It's more comfortable to read and take notes that way. Is that possible to do?

Thanks again!

🙂
