Trouble Installing OS X Snow Leapord

I am trying to upgrade my iMac from 10.5.8 to OS X Snow Leapord. I purchased the disc from the Apple Store.


When I tried to install it, I got a message saying it could not be installed. I verified my hard drive, and the hard drive is fine. I restarted the computer and tried upgrading it again to no avail.


What else can I try?

iMac, iOS 5.1.1
