Iphone 2G cant open because SIM card is not supported!

I have a problem with my Iphone 2G.I just restored it and it has IOS 3.1. i think but i cant open it.When i connect to Itunes with my PC it says:

The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.

The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information.

Your device is locked to a carrier, and the SIM you are attempting to use is not from that carrier. The original iPhone was locked to carriers and at that time, carriers did not provide unlocking services. Many phones were hacked to unlock them, and in the process of updating or restoring the devices, they would lock back to the original carrier. You will have to find out who the device is locked to and see if you can get an unlock.
