libusb for El Capitan

I am trying to use libusb from python, and I get the following error:

File "build/bdist.macosx-10.11-intel/egg/usb/core.py", line 1263, in find usb.core.NoBackendError: No backend available

I believe I'm getting this because I have no libusb in /usr/lib

Where would one obtain the appropriate libusb for:

El Capitan 10.11.3 MacBook Air

Model Name: MacBook A

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

Hi, may be you solved your problem already.

After I experienced the same problem "usb.core.NoBackendError: No backend available", I found your question.

I could resolve it successfully with

pip uninstall libusb1 <-- with 1

brew install libusb <-- without 1
