Fix my ipad2 (GSM+Wifi) - error activation problem. (You can try my method to see if it works for you)

As usual You can follow the following steps. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT206214

Note:Even after following the above I still get the "activation error message".

My solution:

1. Remove my SIM card from IPAD and redo the above update steps.

2. Once done please activate IPAD from your iTunes (dont do it in your IPAD)

3. At your iTunes scrren if you still get the error "We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time..."

4. Do below step repeatedly:

>Press the back button

>Then press the small device logo again. (This will re-send your activation to Apple)

Note: I did step 4 a few times and successfully activated.

I had the "Activation Error" issue following a restore on my iPad2.

However I was using a USB hub on my PC to connect the Ipad. When i removed the cable from the hub and connected DIRECTLY to the PC's motherboard USB, it worked!! (To be fair to Apple, it does say connect DIRECTLY in their How to)

oh.. i'm new here, thank you for letting me know. I read some people was able to fix it by upgrade using itunes. what make me worries is my tunes can't verify my device. 😟

Is it something to do with "find my device" feature at icloud? should i remove my device by login to icloud?

It do not think it is related to iCloud. A lot of people are having this issue tonight. Since the new update was just released many people are trying to update at the same time. I would wait a bit before removing iCloud as this may resolve itself with time.

Same problem I'm also facing. Upgraded my iPad2 from 9.2.1 to 9.3. within an hour 9.3 was made available. But till now, couldn't get the device activated. Tried connecting to different wifi networks, hotspots. Still no luck. I guess, Apple missed the device in their install testing for iOS 9.3. Fingers crossed.

How do you remove iCloud if you can't get into the iPad and can't activate it on iTunes?

Use the Find my iPhone app on another device, or sign into icloud on a web browser. Make sure to only remove the device, don't erase it.
