iOS 9.3
guys, do you also have the problem that the battery drains in standby more as usual? in about 3-4hours like 2-5% o_O
no background stuff etc running, using it also in low power mode!
iPhone 6s Plus 9.3.1
dont use low power mode under 20% ! It will damage your iPhone's battery
On my iPad air 2 I have exactly the same problem! I've just reset the settings but it didn't help. What's even more frustrating is that the battery drains almost as fast in standby mode as during actual usage. The new OS rendered my iPad almost useless.
Today as I saw a new 9.3.1 update I thought they had resolved the battery issue, but no, it's about safari links...
do it:
erase all content and settings
After update from 8.4.1 to 9.3 everything was ok but I wanted to clean phone. So I made new instal and backup from iCloud. Later after draining during downloading music from iCloud I set my iPhone as new. Draining was a little bit bigger but still whole day I could use it. But than I update to 9.3.1 and everything started. During night it lost 6%. Then I made a test. During listening music it didn't lose anything but later when I need to go out just after 2 hours battery dropped from 89% to 73%.Someone can says that not too much. But indeed I didn't use my phone. It had 86% and after 15 minutes 80%. That is not normal. Now it is in service and they are changing battery. I hope that is software problem not hardware. But I see that my iPad mini 2 also drops too much. After 2 hours of using from 42% to 11%. Sometimes even on 9.3 it used to lose 50% after a day of using (8-9 hours). Very frustrating. Maybe crashed app (Apple's music) is a problem. I don't know. Sorry for that but I happy that I'm not alone with this problem.
Someone on polish forum said that in his case turning on iCloud drive increases battery draining. if you can check this. I am waiting for new battery.
As part of its install process, iOS 9.3 activates or reactivates many services and settings, some of which can cause battery drain. For example FaceTime, iMessages, Location Services, Background App Refresh, etc. So you need to go thru ALL the settings and readjust as needed. A major PITA, no doubt, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
Watched my iPhone 6+ drain 35% in less than 5 hours. Went thru the motions of doing all the adjustments, now it's back to draining 15-20% in a 50 hour period if on full standby, and that's with base Location Services (so Find My Phone works), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on.
OK but in my case majority location services I had turned off. Also background refresh. You want to say that if drains it means that we have to much turned on or we need to turn off and turn on which cause something like reset and it helps.
Yeah, it means that if you had achieved a configuration that worked and provided acceptable battery life and performance and that changed after you "upgraded" to 9.3.1, you'll have to redo it or at least recheck it all cause it got modified in the process.
And note I state 9.3.1. If you bit the bullet and went to 9.3, you HAVE to go all the way and go to 9.3.1. At least get rid of the known bugs that the 9.3.1 emergency release was put out to stomp!
How would i downgrade it to 9.2.1.. My phone has become worse after updating to 9.3. Battery is getting drained off and phone is getting heated up.. Please suggest.
Go to YouTube.... here is one link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCMePbqX0j4. The links for the ipsw files are there as well. Make 100% sure that your phone is backed up.
