ios 9.3 can't connect to wifi or data

Hi

I have an iPhone 5 which I upgraded to ios 9.3 last night (I also upgraded a newer iPad, which I've not had any issues with.)

Towards the end of the upgrade, I was invited as usual to input my Apple ID so that Cloud sync could take place. I tried doing this a couple of times, but it seemed to get stuck - eventually I tried skipping this step and it gave me the home screen as usual.

My iPhone states that it is connected to my wifi and (when I turn it off) 4G. However, none of my apps work, I can't connect to the internet and I can't input my Apple ID when prompted.

I have tried turning it off and on again, putting wifi mode on, turning data on and off etc. My wifi is working fine on my iPad as I say. Things had been working fine on my phone before the upgrade. I can still make and receive phonecalls from my iPhone

To cut a long story short, can I either fix this issue or roll back to a previous version?

Same exact problem as described on an iPhone 6+ after the 9.3 upgrade. After the upgrade I get a notification from the phone to verify my iCloud account, tried that but I keep getting "error connecting to the Apple ID server". I try turning off wifi (using LTE through AT&T) and I get the same thing. In LTE and wifi I see the same behavior with some apps (Facebook) receiving notifications to the phone while a lot of stuff (iCloud, Speediest, Safari) can't access the internet. I did try to reset the network setting and no dice. I was going to downgrade to 9.2.x but I can't because "Find my iPhone" is turned on which, of course, I can't turn off because iCloud can't verify with the server.

It is an endless loop and unacceptable.

My wife has a iPhone 5s and I upgraded to iOS 9.3 and wifi was "working" but I couldn't get to the internet. Wifi working in that the phone could connect to the router and I could do something like airplay to a device in my home.

Using the cellular data (wifi off) worked fine in that I could connect to the internet.

Thanks for the tip on disconnect. I noticed when I was in the Settings - General Tab that the VPN was going green and trying to connect.

I followed the directions to delete the VPN profile (in this case Disconnect).

Now I can connect to the internet via Wifi with Disconnect profile removed.

i have the 5s and this just started happening with my phone today. I'm able to use the Internet on my data plan but the wifi doesn't work at all. I've tried everything, a hard reset, reset network settings, forgetting the network and joining it again. what on earth is going on? I don't have the Disconnect app that seems to be causing other people trouble.

This is my symptom too (on 3 different iPhone 6 Pluses in the family) - LTE works fine but Wifi its very sporadic - will work fine for a few minutes but then totally stop working even though it shows connected, then after a few minutes will start working again on its own. We have no ad blockers or anything like that - just normal apps. Have tried the reset and such to no avail but I don't want to go through the hassle of a total reset and restore as new since that takes forever and I lose all my app settings and messages and such. Totally frustrating...

WLAN wifi issues after ios 9.3 update on iphone 6.

On 9.3 updated iphone 6 the WLAN settings can't find any WiFi network. The phone just keeps on searching for networks and draining the battery.

Battery empties from 100 to 40% in less than 2 hours.

(I have another iphone 6 - not yet updated - which is working fine on the network.)

I do not have an ad blocking app.

Restarted, reset network settings, still no fix.

Removed old redundant VPN profiles. No fix.

Removed printer airplay app. No fix.

Reset network settings again, restarted again. Still no fix.

hi guys...

I had the same problem here.. my iphone 6 working just fine on my data plan, but when I turn on wifi the internet seemed to be stuck. it will work fine in a few minutes but it will stop again and will work just fine by itself.. already tried everything but still no hope. it happened since iOS 9.2.1 and it keeps going on iOS 9.3

just hope Apple realize this bug and fix it soon..

This tip just changed everything.

I have been so frustrated, luckily only for a day, because my phone suddenly stopped working except for calls and texts to Android phones. None of my apps would load, even though I was connected to the internet, and they wouldn't work when I turned off wifi to just use data.

I rebooted multiple times, reset the network settings more than once, and also restored my phone through iTunes. Nothing worked until just minutes ago when I tried deleting a few apps. I had an app called Freedom downloaded—it syncs with your computer and phone to block certain apps and websites for a set period of time—and it uses a VPN network to sync with your phone. As soon as I deleted it, everything started working again!!!!

I'm so glad that I found this discussion thread!

WLAN wifi issues after ios 9.3 update on iphone 6. UPDATE

UPDATE: Turns out that Wifi problem was a hardware issue. Restoring the phone to factory settings at the genius bar showed that the wifi network circuits had failed. Coincidental to the recent update. Replaced the phone.

For my IPAD with 9.3

Some data would get through, text messages and bank balance info, but definitely no internet. The VPN switch on settings was flickering on and off. I deleted the MALVERTISING app from my phone and a short string of texts came through, but that's it. I trolled the web some more and hit paydirt.

Go to SETTINGS Not to WIFI

Go to GENERAL

Go to VPN @ THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN

Click on VPN

Make sure Status switch is off

Click on "i" in blue circle

Switch "Connect on Demand" to off

Thank you so much for getting me pointed in the right direction.
