itunes could not back up the ipod because the backup sessin failed

does anyone have an answer to my problem, tried to back up my ipod touch 5th generation to computer windows 10 and reply was "iTunes could not back up the ipod because the backup session failed". I have IOS9.3 Tried delete lockdown folder, but then iTunes does not see my ipod but comes up with error code 0xe8000003. (I then reinstated the lockdown folder so itues would at least pick my ipod upt).
