This is the third or fourth time I've lost playlists that took years to make. Apple's absolutely disrespectful treatment of our data is just unacceptable. The glib reply is always, "Just go back and restore from a back-up." Apple, why don't you stop putting out bug-ridden "updates" that destroy our settings and data so we don't have to. I can't put up with this anymore.

"Just go back and restore from a back-up." : witch is rather difficult if the music is not downloaded !!!!

I spent a long time on one special playlist. It never occurred to me that it could be damaged by external circumstances It was shared with friends and 50 tracks long. It is for a special occasion and I want to know if there is any way I can find the songs in that list. Quite upsetting If I can't recover this. I have a random 2 songs left in the list which were from previous purchases. Basically all non purchased songs were removed. Any ideas if there is a way to find that original 50 track list with many many hours worth of time spent putting it together.

If your playlist is displaying properly on your Mac/Windows PC but is missing songs on your iOS device, go to Settings > Music and make sure iCloud Music Library is turned ON, and when prompted choose Replace. For some reason after the iOS 9.3 update mine was switched off so I was having the same problem that other people pointed out in this thread where a playlist that had 95 songs was only showing 12 on my iPhone. After I turned on iCloud Music Library everything went back to normal.

I have not checked my laptop, but all of My Music just disappeared! It was there earlier today and now, EMPTY! I had tons of songs downloaded to my phone as well as my own playlists... All gone! For as much money as I have paid for Itunes music over the years, this is unacceptable! It's hard to promote apple products to people when this happens... My Music says I'm offline (I didn't change anything) and purchased songs that I downloaded to my phone now show up in Itunes as in the cloud or whatever...available to download...but they were on my phone this morning. I am NOT happy about this!

seems to have happened to so many after the last update. I didnt need or want the update but when my pc started to freeze every time i went to Itunes i thought i would give it a go - then lost all my tracks. The phone help via Apple said this was not possible and since I didnt have a Mac they could not help me get back what was lost. I searched via Itunes for what I could, but then, once i sorted a couple of lists out, i went to play a track off my desk top and it froze again.

Itunes did say that they should be able find anything bought via their store but most of my stuff was music I created and well organised samples or collaborations.

I went to all my downloads section of the computer, found what I had downloaded via different sites, found another way to play music instead of Itunes and now I do not have any more problems with freezing or losing tracks etc

problem solved

I may have solved this! I had to go through all my downloaded music on my library, right click on the first song and click on "Get Info." Any song that was checked as "Album is a compilation of songs by various artists" wasn't showing up. As soon as I unchecked that and re-synced my phone, the music that wasn't there at first finally showed up. I can't speak for Apple Music or Purchased Songs but these were songs I had downloaded on my computer previously. I don't know if the sorting for the playlist is a different matter, but this technique worked for me after hours of pulling my hair out!

Good luck!
