I Woke up this morning & looked for my music to lis to at work today & all my over 4K song, over 90 vids, & podcasts are all gone. Also I did nothing but plug the phone in before I went to sleep. To manually have to add all that again will take days. Then the memory says tots over 95gbs free which means the phone was wiped clean. All I have ate my iBooks in the library... and I believe I updated last Friday morning before work.

This is amazing. I've lost playlists multiple times since subscribing to Apple Music only 2 months ago. I love the interface and want it to work so bad but I may have to leave soon this is just ridiculous. All of my music is still in my iCloud library, but the playlists have been emptied (except for a few songs that were stored locally on my phone).

I've tried toggling the iCloud library on and off plenty of times, choosing "Replace" instead of "Merge" - still nothing. I'm close to giving up on this. I too have been with Apple and used Apple products forever and cant seem to understand how they can't get this right.

Same problem here.

I had 2 folders with over hundreds of songs each. I'm not sure what caused the problem. I did reset all my settings, and I created a new folder before it appeared. I'm so disappointed. It seems like the songs are in my library (even though "Add songs to my music when adding songs to playlist" is turned off), but I'm not going to add them back manually each time this problem appears for whatever reasons.

I'm on 9.3.2 Iphone 6S+

every couple of days my half dozen or so playlists all lose some, or nearly all, tracks in them.
It all seems very random, but is incredibly frustrating.
I'm paying good money, for a sub par service.
I've read as much as I can about this, tried as many fixes as I can, and yet it still keeps happening.
what a mess.

I have exactly the same problem and it happened twice already within 6 weeks. I have around 40GB songs in my iPhone 6S 128GB running with iOS 9.3.2. Yesterday night I was still listen to my songs and I found my entire list is emptied when I wanted to play some music. Same thing happened 6 weeks ago and I had to load my song back in with my iTunes. Hoping these is a solution to solve this as this is pretty annoying to sync those songs back in as it took ages to do so. Thanks for your help in advance.

Same here. This is the second time it happened - was happily listening to the music stored on my iPhone last night via bluetooth, plugged it in overnight and this morning all the music and all the playlists are gone, with the music app showing no downloaded music. Sure, I can click on a song and it will start streaming it down over the network after a lot of buffering, but I live in a limited bandwidth environment and I don't like Apple messing with the music I've put on my phone. Not to mention the playlists all gone.

Fortunately I can "fix it" by plugging in to iTunes and re-syncing, but it seems I have to click and unclick a couple playlists for the "audio" portion of the storage thermometer at the bottom to re-show.

iOS 9.3.2, iPhone 6S 128GB, subscribed to iTunes Match but it's not being used. No Genius, no iCloud Music Library or Apple Music enabled.

Only started happening after the 9.3.2 update.

Yup, I noticed this too recently on my iPhone SE with 9.3.2. Playlists with 200 songs down to 4.

Then the world came crashing down as I tried to use iTunes to fix everything, but Sync just modified the Playlist on iTunes!

I could not figure out how to restore, but I knew my iPad was not up to date in iOS, and it still was good, so I plugged it in, File/Library/Export Playlist, and then was able to File/Library/Import Playlist back to iTunes for the 4 playlists that iTunes/iCloud messed up.

I was very lucky that I back up my playlists across devices! I also plan to make a hard drive back-up of my iTunes library this weekend as another precaution!

Good luck!

PS, as I was checking if iCloud could help (it could not), I was forced to change a perfectly secure password, and I know that I will be spending the next few days dealing with that on all of my devices :-(
