gps not working properly after iOS 9.3 update

Hi all.

After updating to iOS 9.3 my GPS cannot find my exact location. It keeps telling me I am in a big area, (Triangulating) seems like it does not activate the GPS.

Sometimes very little it works and give me the correct position, but 97% of the time its not working. Anyone else with the same problem?

Besides that: A hot phone & bad WIFI

Folks, I have iPhone 6 and after updating to 10.2.1, I have lost wifi signal strength ( I have to sit in front of router to get signals) and GPS just cannot locate me. I did reset, hard reset, restore, got hardware checked at Apple but to no avail. I had to go out of town relying heavily on my GPS in phone and the **** thing just dint work. I never even dream that one day I will have to say the apple is not reliable. This has happened to me and this can happen to anyone.

I went to Apple to complain about this issue a number of times and they finally told me it would cost $379 CAD to fix. I just walked away and finally tried these two items. 25mins later everything is working again. It's not a software issue just faulty equipment.

Links to the items below.

Thanks

I have done all of these things - they don't work. Take us seriously - we are not making this up. I have also been to the Apple Store who spent an hour with me to no avail. This is a software, not a hardware problem.

Location is accurate with a small location circle after after reset UNTIL APPS ARE ADDED. Tried it from restore and factor reset and also manually loaded apps one at a time. I have minimal additional apps loaded individually. Location off on all of them except maps. As soon as anything other than the default Apple apps are added, it loses exact location. All of this indicates to me this is a SOFTWARE problem that showed up immediately after the 9.3.2 update.

Maps location will often 'find' me again after a minute after I use 'find my iphone'. But at the next update, it will lose me again.

When driving, it will sometimes find me accurately. But then it does not update location correctly after finding me. So if I'm driving, it finds me, but I drive and it doesn't ping another new location for several minutes. When I move out of it's original 'circle' of location accuracy it will have lost my location again. It seems to locate me at the nearest cell phone repeater. Wrong locations are consistent - the tollbooth at the highway exit, a local cell phone tower, a house around half mile from my house.

I have lost at least 3 hours in the last week lost in the city because neither Maps nor Google Maps can find my location and does not update location in real time. It always did before this update.

Having the same problem, IOS 9.3.2 (13F69) I did everything outlined above above including a full restore. The location services indicator arrow won't even show up in my bar, I just get a little spinner for a second then it's gone. Funny part is it worked fine when I was overseas on Vodafone so it may be an issue with AT&T? My carriers are updated, I'm at a loss.

this is happening to me too, went to apple today and they said nothing was wrong with it and i insisted there was something wrong, then he told me to reboot it (already done it twice) he wouldnt take my opinion at all and kept saying its fine, so i left came home and restored it 3 times and the last time without a backup and still does the same thing. really frustrated as i need to use maps daily for my job

I had the same issue. The store reboot helped - for 3 minutes. Just like I sometimes get a good signal at home - but rarely.

I did replace the phone (iphone 6). I immediately saw that with the working GPS you could see it pinging out for location every few seconds. The blue circle around your location tells you how accurate the signal is (large circle less accurate). It pulses when it's sending out a signal. If your circle doesn't pulse it means your GPS antenna is not sending out a signal. I didn't want to admit it, but it was a hardware problem. I think this is diagnostic and also new in this iOS. They should know it at the stores but don't seem to.

I also absolutely needed the GPS to function. And I've got to tell you I was SO ****** at the flaky GPS that I felt like throwing the phone at the window - I lost hours in only a week circling within blocks of my route. Before I replaced the phone I realized I had dropped it around the same time as the update. No external damage but the GPS stopped working correctly and I also noticed somewhat shorter linkage between phone and Apple watch.

When you're replacing because it's broken you get a discount on the phone and they will buy back your old phone (I got $200 or so for mine). If you or any family member is in college, you also get a bonus pair of $199 wireless earbuds which are - I've got to admit - awesome. I have wireless headphones and these are better.

I feel your pain. Look at the blue circle.
