gps not working properly after iOS 9.3 update

Hi all.

After updating to iOS 9.3 my GPS cannot find my exact location. It keeps telling me I am in a big area, (Triangulating) seems like it does not activate the GPS.

Sometimes very little it works and give me the correct position, but 97% of the time its not working. Anyone else with the same problem?

Besides that: A hot phone & bad WIFI

Folks, I have iPhone 6 and after updating to 10.2.1, I have lost wifi signal strength ( I have to sit in front of router to get signals) and GPS just cannot locate me. I did reset, hard reset, restore, got hardware checked at Apple but to no avail. I had to go out of town relying heavily on my GPS in phone and the **** thing just dint work. I never even dream that one day I will have to say the apple is not reliable. This has happened to me and this can happen to anyone.

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 6 on iOS 10.3.3.

I reset everything more times than I can remember. The Genius Bar didn't find anything wrong with the phone, and my wireless provider's app shows that GPS is working "properly". I have reset the phone competely twice now.

This issuenis frustrating, but otherwise the phone is still functional. The problem isn't worth the pain to replace the antenna or get a new phone just yet.

I have had the same problem since as well.

I paid for the phone all at once and now it's worthless to me since i am a uber and Lyft driver and anhome healthcare practitioner.

Basically the maps ( all of them ) don't work anymore and I had to replace the battery as well.

This is my everything phone and I have factory reset , hard reset anything I could do to not have to buy another one .

I know a lot of other people with the same problem. Apple needs to address this issue and fix the gps in the phones for free in a timely manner .

There should have been a recall by now!

But you can buy Att maps for $9.99 a month and they work just fine.

What's that about ?

Thank you for the

$700 IPhone I can't use to do my job.

I have the same issue and have tried all the solves (except the antenna replacement) as everyone on this thread and still can't use any GPS-dependent app. I spent 3 hours on the phone with AT&T and they couldn't find anything wrong with my phone--they accessed my phone remotely, ran tests and claim that there isn't a hardware issue. Someone mentioned planned obsolescence earlier on this thread and I think that's what it is. I just finished paying for my phone a few weeks before this started happening. Now I guess if I want a fully functioning iPhone I'll have to plunk down another $800. Sometimes it doesn't "just work", eh, Apple?

That's a rather bizarre hypothesis. How do you explain the hundreds of millions of phones that did not have a problem after updating?

Not to mention that I don't believe for a second that AT&T, over the phone, can conclusively diagnose that it's not a hardware issue.

Did you already force restart the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?

You will not lose data by resetting, but it can clear some glitches after installing new software or apps.

If this does not work, and to make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using a backup afterwards. Test your Wifi and GPS features.

In case it works again, restore from the backup, if it does not, the problem could be hardware related and the phone has to be checked by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

It's the software issue. I have absolutely the same problem since December 2015 and iOS 9,2 update. There are many others with the same symptoms. Apple commented nothing so far, which is very unfortunate. To pay 900 $ for the phone which is partly useless after 15 months (with no warranty) is quite sick.

I have exactly the same issue with my iPhone 6. Kind of ***** especially since im traveling right now.

i was on the beta version of 9.3 before and im pretty sure that version didnt have this issue.

apple please fix this. Im loosing gps signal alot.

its easy to reproduce with google maps. Then sometimes you start all right and after a while it just looses your position, then sometimes it comes back again.

very annoying

Even i am facing the same problem like other iPhone users, I have tried to do the force restart, factory default now even restored like new still the same. Wish i didn't upgrade to 9.3 😟.
I am facing problem in wifi as well.. When i check in my mac or other phone, I am able to find more than 9 SSID's but in iPhone just 2 or 3.

Please Apple fix this issue ASAP or else allow the user to downgrade in an official way.

Having similar problem with my iPhone 6 after having the screen replaced at the Genius Bar, starting with iOS 9.2.1

Wifi reception is terrible and often drops off completely when other devices are at full strength in the same location.

All maps apps (Apple, Google, Waze, whatever) have a lot of trouble pinning down my location. Sometimes the uncertainty bubble is 10+ miles wide. Using any maps for navigation while driving has become pretty useless. Compass heading was also off (not pointing north, but not correct either) only in mapping apps, but not in the Compass app, making me think this is some OS library problem. Calibrating the compass did nothing, because it was already calibrated and correct.

Did a full factory restore, which updated the os to 9.3.1. Didn't fix the wifi problem.

I then restored from backup. It seems the compass heading problem in mapping apps may have been fixed. I will test navigation later today. Wifi problem definitely not fixed.
