Apple watch and health kit sync

I have a question about the Apple Watch and Health kit integration. I searched and found a little info but would like some clarification. I have a Fossil Q Grant. It syncs to health kit and measures steps etc through its app. I recently added an Apple Watch. I don't want to wear it to work daily and bang the stainless up so I will wear the Q. Now when I get home and change watches for the night. Activity tracker shows no steps/calories burned. I don't see any setting to make these two talk and as they are both native apps shouldn't they sync? Am I missing something?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Hi Jeremy

The Health app on iPhone does not sync activity back to the Activity app on Apple Watch.

Instead, the Heath app on your iPhone aggregates health and fitness data from Apple Watch, iPhone and any other data sources. Combined data is reflected in the Health app Dashboard, which adjusts results to avoid any double counting of data from different sources.
